LASG EMPOWERS ANOTHER SET OF YOUTHS
To ensure self-reliance and improved livelihood for the youths, women and farmers in Lagos State; and to facilitate rapid socio economic development in all part of the state, a new set of beneficiaries have been train byed and empowered with necessary tools to improve their businesses.At a one-day training on Aquaculture organized by the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD), the participants, who were drawn from Lagos Island and Badagry divisions, were exposed to various aspects of fish farming such as fingerling production, fish breeding, management, harvesting, processing, smoking, storage, marketing, and how to mitigate risk and secure their investments.Speaking at the workshop, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural development, Mrs. kikelomo Bolarinwa charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunities provided by the empowerment programme to turn around their businesses, contribute to increased food production and transform the economic fortune of the State.The Director/CEO, CERUD Mr. Muyiwa Balogun also charged the participants not to see the empowerment as freebies to be wasted, pointing out that the government will be motivated to do more if the beneficiaries made judicious use of the opportunity provided by the administration of Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo OluThe beneficiaries, who were provided with fingerlings, fish feeds, fish tanks, and smoking kiln thanked Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo Olu for his love and support for the youths and farmers in the state promising the opportunity provided by the training and empowerment programme will not be wasted.
